Into the night

by Twan - Aries

YOU
can't see what I've been to all around me
I
can't feel the crashing waves that break around me
WHEN
did I become a slut, just another dick
I
am more than you think, take your pick

This isn't my battle, this isn't my fight
I was peaceful, I walked into the night
You think you've seen the last of me
Only for an hour I'm back at three
silence reigns, among the clouds
Insecurity covers me, worse than a shroud
Look what I've done to get here, it's worse
My name revered in some circles, in others a curse

DON'T
Wonder if you got here cause I asked for you
YOU
couldn't figure out if it was you, when you get clue
FLY
back to Chicago, back into the past
WON'T
you come back with me if we know it lasts

Sometimes you have to ask, if the world you know
is staggering, ready for a knockout blow
the buildings fall and the skies erupt
The guilty free and the innocent corrupt
by money, and lust, and things that are a bust
if everyone's doing it why can't I do it too
Because you're in a cell with boy blue
I came, I saw, I left, and never looked back
turned into a pillar of salt, smashed by a halftrack
Your friends are not what they seem
faces disappear into thick steam
into the room and into flight
And slip away like a ghost into the night

IF
I said the words you heard, would you come to me
THEN
when times go into, give some to me
I
love this girl I know, but the things I say
WHAT
can I ever do to have a happy day

Kings made queens, Prince makes girls down on him
Middle America, please can I frown on him
sep from the herd and slave to the dick
girls that I love and I won't be slick
(Porn?) Slam the door shut on hell and don't go in
stinging slaps from girls who say they ho'in
What I say's not a lie, nice guys finished first but got disqualified
pop things back into place then stride away
I never fuckin walk, I just glide away
In an alley I'm king, in a house I was less
I won the battle and failed every single test
I walk I run I fly I never really try
We don't multiply we just never die
we're all the same when it's time for the game
A word said in the past gives you much shame
embarrassment, self-hate into overdrive
It's me in color and heading back to the hive
I say no words that make a diff
I say no things that'll give you a lift
You've known me for months and known me for years
And that things are never what they appear.
