No Attack

by Charles Mathew Tyner III - Scorpio

Every four years from the time I was 8 years old, you've attacked me. I've learned to set my clock by them. I know you're still anxious for revenge for the loss of your son, but he took someone that was dear to me. I know that you hate me for turning away from you, but I couldn't live in the darkness anymore. So this Halloween is my 24th birthday and I waited for what you had in store for me. I've felt an unnerving feeling for most of the year and I knew you had something to do with it. The day has come and gone, but the unnerving feeling still resides deep within my soul. So, you have decided to bide your time with me. Fine then, I'll be waiting...

Reason for writing:

As I said in the poem, every four years since my 8th birthday, Satan has attacked or sent someone to attack me. I've learned to expect the small everyday things, but on my birthday, he wants me dead. My 24th birthday has come and gone and I wondering why he hasn't tried. So I wait patiently for him and his followerrs to strike.
