I studied the globe, the geography mocked I saw the flames in the town Most boys turn to girls, and some girls into boys For Thailand I am bound. There are those who are into children, not for me, never was But what I'm bringing to Thai Whole villages destroyed, by AIDS and othr things And everyone shall die Those in the know begin to sermonize And when I gave it a whirl The chick with the dick, the man with the plan died slowly among the pearls Back home I run, knowing I'm the one I look in on my wife And savagely fucked her without protection the most savage twist of a Bowie knife She looks unwell, she looks like a skull She went away into the gloom Then one day she comes home, and swings at me The doctor forecast her doom You Son-of-a-bitch, she screamed at me You gave me this crap! Who were you fucking, you asshole Were you sitting on some fag's lap? She knew the answer already, but she wanted to know if I would pay the piper She shot herself that night so She wouldn't end her life in a diaper distraught but not guilty, I opened a book heard an audible crack Stood up and fell down The victim of an AIDS-related heart attack At the funeral, for my soul There was an audible plea The kids stood there and spat all over me.
Reason for writing:
I was saddened by the revelation that in Thailand, whole towns had died of AIDS. So I wrote this poem from the point of view of a tourist who brought it there.
