Sweet Scented Briar

by Will Read - Gemini

Sweet Scented Briar.
Your twisted barbs entwine around the heart of a liar.

Tell me, have your icy petals fluttered?
In descent at every untruth that your poisoned lips have uttered?

Yet still the tract of thorn remains.
In stoic indignation they protrude from your veins.

Though your scent is but a stench,
And your sweet? A noxious sour.
You are indeed, the essence of a very ugly flower.

So wither. Shrivel. Choke. In the root of your vine,
And the seeds of your deception, in good time, will be mine.
