- a break from the pace while the momma
looks for the star signs – feeling a funny
dropout
when the moods intersperse –
the ‘too much’ of me is sometimes
too much –
the junky barges rafting down the river –
exploiting every hopeless soul along the way –
a regret is a comical thing – it implores a greater
understanding of one’s Self –
i wish i was a philosopher – that’s the ear to the water
that a Braham’s child deserves – but cynicism and brutish logic
turned me to a poet instead –
- - a dockworker, awash in the spray of the sea,
every day taunted by the limitless expanse
of inviting openness around him, yet cursed with
a task of repetition that allows for the uninterrupted
contemplation of the wonders he will never see - -
like a thirsty horse with a cup of water tied
to dangle tantalizingly inches from his nose, pointed into
the desert and goaded into a
pointless motion -
