Baby Blue

by Will Read - Gemini

Here’s a rhythm for a baby blue.
Who never knew.
Sweet loving in the rain.

Of nursery rhymes, and celandines,
That never grew.
In gardens of the pain.

Captured not the butterflies of loves first kiss.
Forever missed.
The music of her song.

For where is love,
If love is merely transient?
Much better spent, Just trying to get along.

Blood roses- Memories of those summers past.
Peeled love that couldn’t last.
The petals on the bed.

Shaded by the half-light in the shadows cast.
And gone so fast.
Wintered words we never said.

So here’s a rhythm for a baby blue.
Like me and you.
Whose lives are not the same.

Nursery rhymes and celandines,
She never knew.
The gardens of my pain.
