I saw

I Saw

Today I saw an angel,
Though no one else could see.
For when I saw this angel,
She was looking right at me.
As this angel smiled I wondered,
What it was she saw.
Her eyes so brightly glistened,
It was the hand of God.
As he called her to him,
Then Jesus did she see for all
His forgiving love was there
For all to see.
All the time I did wonder,
Why this angel looked at me.
She was my first true love,
My dearest fried indeed.
On this day you meet our maker,
My heart will break for sure.
Someday your love will guide me,
To your arms once more.
And though I know you’re gone,
So peace of mind I find.
If only for a moment,
I have your hand in mine.
So to the lord you go today,
Tonight I will be sad.
For yesterday I lost,
The greatest love I ever had.
