I dreamt of you. It was snowing outside, the flakes falling fast. We were planning a walk around the grass With my new daughter; she's not yours To show her new eyes the snow she had not seen. I dreamt of you. I went on out and you called me on the phone, something was wrong and you wanted me to come home, your voice so mean. I dreamt of you. I asked the matter and your answer didn't make sense It seemed that the fight was worth more than the chance To experience the quiet splendor of the season With someone that you once held as your own Nothing I said would calm you down I dreamt of you. And once again, the moment was gone The snow stopped falling from the sky My daughter was looking into my eyes I dreamt of you. You see, she had missed the magic because of you Like so many times before that I had missed it too. I dreamt of you. Then I realized how my life would have been Staying with you how my time would be spent Crying and missing out on the moments I loved. I dreamt of you. But then I awoke and realized where I was In a house of love and peace that I always dreamed of. With my husband and daughter my life is so sweet He treats me like someone treats someone they love. I dreamt of you. Then, I woke up.
