It was only the next day Your quivering eager faces smiled Waited expectant; Black; normal How I despised you In your happy oblivion No grief for you two Puppies at play Bloody dog hairs everywhere Don’t you know he’s gone away Dead – for good Not just a few days But your tails wagged As you spun the walking dance A flip dismissal of my heavy megrim Be subdued for god sake! But you couldn’t So we trudged each day Well I trudged, you both cavorted Joyful Now grief is done for me All boiled and stewed and baked Cooked and seared Dessert tears Too soon some would say To be a puppy at play Who dares to come and drink my cup And spit in it Last spring was the final feast for Your eyes But the lime leaves come again For me I loved you And I will love a newBirth sign: Aries
