How I wish halcyon days gone To be warmed by a kinder sun All rainbow and feast Far less eudemonic to me Than: The tonic of your wide grin When you’ve been away a while. Playing scrabble with you on a wet day Even though I can’t spell and Never win. Having you take hold of my hand in yours; Curls my toes Standing doing the cross-word Enjoying how absorbed you become Just being able to slip my hand Up your shirt and feel your skin. Tasting your smile; Just the thought of kissing you Mmm – thrilling! Listening while you play your guitar So clever – and it reminds me how deft Your fingers are… Not saying much but staring into eyes That echo replies; Or talking lots – fishing in each other’s pool To catch thoughts that Allude to who we are; character and hopes; Resonating base notes Waiting for a text or a call or the door to open And the fall of your foot Call me into your arms – kissed; For this, I wish halcyon days doneBirth sign: Aries
