As the rivers froze and the mountains melted. So we slept. As storms and snows and meteorites pelted. Our ignorance? Adept! As the very earth did shake itself. Tsunami ripping shelf to shelf, and still we slept. And the heaving mass of man did boil and burn and freeze and starve and yet????... We slept. We closed our eyes and muffled the sound, of a world that burnt down to the ground. And a copper sun bowed low to set. Alas, if only earth was better kept, Our epitaph (in dust) would not be that...
