I will tell you a tale,a wonderful tale of how things happened to me.Believe it or not,I was shanghied here in '49 ,through believing the things that were told to me ,and told to me with such guile.Within 3 days I had 3jobs due maybe to my style.With in a short time I had mastered five tongues ,eight years of Latin providing the vehicle miracle.From New Brunswick to Montreal and then to Ontario did I so spend my time.In '53 they did award me with an Award of Merit for a nocturnal action.In '56 through an open competition I became the first bi-lingual investigator with the Unemployment Insurance Commission.I had a very large area to cover,most of the time from the Quebec border to the Manitoba one. As the English say -it was a piece of cake.In the many years I worked for the Federal Government I was advised that I had established the record of all time;and never lost one prosecution There is always a green eyed monster when things are going well and although my position was bi-lingual when I had been there for six months I applied for the extra $950,00 per annum and was told that my French was not appropriate for the French -Canadians.Since the amount owing me doubles every eight years,apparently the total is a little short of a quarter million dollars.I therefore resigned and joined Manulife and have always done well.There will be other episodes a little later on.Thank you one and all for bearing with me.jj
