Synthetic Patience

by Lexi Hilife - Leo

Silence richocheted off the walls Interupted only by sobbing Without trying you could feel the aching Sense fear Touching, Smelling seeming so real Knowing it to be true Retreating with fervrent prayers upon your lips This suffering cannot belong to you Go not near to that sorrow It is dark it is cold and infininately lonely as you may know I loiter at it's edges the shadows snap at me Frozen in place hoping my synthetic patience will reward me, as I wait for you I can't go back to the house where no light glows bereft of warmth or cheer An empty house is not a home NO place is If all you feel is alone Lexi Hise 2002

Reason for writing:

A thought that is but one of the many threads that make up the taperestry of loneliness.
