Warmth of the Sun

by Lexi Hilife - Leo

Now these days here's how it goes My hair is startin' to match the change in my pocket Oh there's still a couple of pennies showing; but the nickles and dimes are bringing up the rear in this race silver's pullin' into first place, a penny ante bet narely exsist Now in here lies the tip When you take drink you do it with a sip You don't run to beat the buzz You patiently wait for it You don't knock em' back anymore No shots of One Five One Hypothetically blowin' all those precious little ol' brain cells right out of your head, instead you make peace with what cha' got left and ease along with the livin' and the dead It is true the days get shorter and they are a whole lot faster than you Like the young and the Free The little sassy ones that see just an old Hillbilly Hippy who ain't got no BLING Tain't quite figured out all that monetary bull shit is nothin' more than that Raccoons or crows treasures Simple minds that covet a precious shiny thing Not once givin' thought that if you were hungry you could not eat it Why do we hold the worthless in high reguard Barely givin' thanks for the priceless warmth of the Sun Lexi Hilife 2007

Reason for writing:

Why do we still prefer gold over green?
