Who Will Claim Them Now?

by Will Read - Gemini

The Hawk and the Dove fell twisting from the spires of cathedrals and minarets, built to the glory of god.

Life and death fought talon and claw past stained glass and stone saints.
And all to the deep refrain of cello, that tightly strains the lustrous spirit out of every note.

God is yet ascending here...And the Devil prowls the orchestra pit - All things in their place.

They crashed to earth in front of me - The Hawk and Dove. Upon cathedral steps.

I gathered up their broken, lifeless bodies and asked...
"Who will claim them now?"
