Water levels rose when you left My heart wanted to be sure You would stay afloat and not run aground in the shallows of humanity that don't understand the treachorousness of your journey I wanted the craft of my prayers to carry you to your dreams I think I cried enough to make waves Hang on little brothers stay dry and keep warm My husband took one look at me and asked me if I needed a hug Poutingly I looked in his eyes and shook my head and said yes He accused me of being to big hearted If your going to be big with your heart you must be prepared to handle the load he said I don't see that I have a choice I have carried the weight of homelessness, hunger, and all the countless insecurities that accompany the condition I've been there myself When our paths crossed I learned of your plight In this weather I would never let you sleep under the brige ill equiped for the night If there was any way I could help it from coming down then that is what I will do Lexi Hilife
