I was string, glue, drycleaner's wrapping paper blue You made me We went to the beach that very same day You drew a cloud God on the front (he looked so real) We saved all the string from every package Tailed it with the most raggedy towel Seagulls did acrobatic dances as they cawed & squealed Wind rose to just the right speed Me...... I held on tight I was so attatched to daydreams The string broke right at the clouds Some dreams come true I saw my tattered scruffy little tennis shoes They tried to catch me All that water, all that sand below me Kept this curious little soul climbing I could'nt think of one single reason To stay anchored to the secret that hurt Not one person could tell me why I should stay So that day in my imagination forever I Flew Away Lexi Hilife
Reason for writing:
A time when my father set me free once, the kite & his parental love were completely real & my imagination was my very own. That day. I was his little Pookie.
