I Would hug an Enemy

by Velvet Haze - Leo

Bombshells are flying
From the cover of my mortared hut
I see death, or life barely clinging
And I see you now no family, country nor friend left to you
I break shelter and pulled your war torn body to my hut
I will embrace you
For you are alone and it reflects my circumstance
Our plight is the choice of others who choose to destroy
We did not ask for these heavy blows they deploy
Now I will tell the world I would hug an Enemy
Reft of human kindness, loved ones, basic needs, water, food, and clothes. Share what little I have I will
Bucket your tears and try to change your mind about hate
Waiting upon men who are after all only men and God
To change our fate, for what choice do they leave us
What voice do they leave us

Reason for writing:

    Senseless WAR
