Growing up in this world I always relished in the fact of our 2nd amendment right. The right to bear arms is beneficial, but only to a certain extent. I wanted a gun because they seemed cool, the permanent fad in the United States. Lately, I've grown to realize that at least 50-60% of violent news on our television has a firearm involved. Why do we continue to create products the will ultimately lead to the demise of mankind? We don't stop making guns. We make the bigger, better, more accurate. Why do we need more accuracy to take a life when life is not ours to take? How do we justify the continued loss of peoples' existence? I hear, "It's for protection!" "It's my constitutional right!" "I have the God-given right to have a gun even if no one likes it!" With every excuse that I hear, it sickens me more. Everyone has this right, but what about the right to be your own person? In your life, do you really need a gun? If you can answer that and honestly say "Yes", then stay the hell away from me. I have the right to live. Those people killed by guns everyday had a right to live. That was there God-given right above all things or they would not have been brought into being. I'm not saying only guns kill people. I just want to know why do we want to hurt eachother so bad? I'm always going to be an advocate for free-will, but I will foremost be an advocate for life and the pursuit of happiness. If the power of a gun brings you happiness and security, then you must be one sad person within your self-being and I will continue to pray for all.
Reason for writing:
When I watch the news or read the newspaper and I hear about people being killed by guns, it feels like I'm taking that bullet also. Even if you don't choose to realize it, all of our life energy is connected. I don't want to feel that kind of death anymore. Guns invite horrible things to happen. It is the truth whether we like it or not.
