Jesus

by Charles Mathew Tyner III - Scorpio

I've been asked, "Why do you follow Jesus?"
"What makes you live with His name on your tongue?"
"What is it about Jesus that Christians love so much?"

My answer is as always, "Love."

When I grew up in the ghettos' and deadly neighborhoods of America. When I would watch my family ignore me and do various substances. When I would wake up at night in the backseat of cars in front of crack houses. When I would sleep next to the heater of homes with no electricity. When I lost my crack addicted baby brother to pneumonia. When I was beaten like a grown-ass man and held over balconies by my "stepfather". When I had to watch my mother be beaten for years. When I lost my son at the hands of people that I believed loved him as much as I. When I sat alone attempting to free myelf from my miserable fate with blades and substances.

With the little I have told you should not question why I do, but why so many don't. I love Jesus because I am living proof that I AM LOVED.

Reason for writing:

I'd rather believe that someone loves me more than I can love myself and wants me near them for eternity instead of living a life where my existence means nothing at death.
