Right Back At'cha

by Peters Uvefelt - Cancer

like crystal melting slowly
all the young girls shed their smiles
and the king limped off quietly
as the young girls spread their guile

the warrior wished for forgiveness
in his own broken way
as the clouds blew briskly past him
towards another bloody day

at a twist strewn with ideas
sat a blue - hearted man
with shackles on his conscious
and a virus in his plans

too long for our attention spans
    overload before the image scans
whole days of re-runs and never - rans
i put cocaine on my raisin bran
sugared drinks are the choice for my child's vice
here's a pie, break yourself off a slice

epoxy - shined floors host the fleet
of silver - spun eyeballs held in heads
regally adorned to parry glances
from the greyness living in their stead

all the words came to life again
and swam around the mocking room
like crystal, they melted slowly
taking pleasure in sealing us to doom

arbitrary dramatics are the life of this
the warrior ever wishing for forgiveness
the old king lingering off quietly
as the young girls give way to youth's vengeance

too long for our attention spans
    overload before the image scans
whole days of re-runs and never - rans
i put cocaine on my raisin bran
sugared drinks are the choice for my child's vice
here's a pie, break yourself off a slice
