sat
off set
i played my favorite game
outside the window
and into the shadows
following silent headlights
trying to pinpoint
who’s killed
and canoodled
but they’re just specks of light
fleeing from a window’s
ill convinced borders
skin’s odorless
and jaws swell
then slump
as i catch the hard wind
bashing trees and
making the house moan
a coward in the dark
knowing nothing of me
the blueprints for
convenience
the letters I re-write
with stuttered silence
and the math that
outlines a solid
argument for
parallel lines
words would be spread
in customary
fashions
it was cruel to do this
to the manic
and
she was agreeable
would be the only
things said
just breaths of
recollection
for
nothing
